Public information is one of the services provided by the Office of Community Relations and Public Information. This office is the central source of public information about the Fulton County Superior Court for citizens and for news media. The Fulton County Superior Court takes seriously its obligation to Provide Access to Justice to all citizens and Ensure Public Trust and Confidence in the Court. The Office of Community Relations and Public Information: Responds to all media inquiries about the Court - to ensure fair, complete and accurate reporting. Develops and maintains the Court’s Public and Employee Websites and Publications. Partners with civic organizations, schools, public officials and others in Public Civic Education Programs about the Court. Provides judges and staff speakers for programs at schools and civic, business, and professional, groups. Operates the Court Ambassador Academy, a training program for citizens interested in learning more about the judicial system and assisting the Court as volunteers. Organizes Court tours for schools and civic, business, and professional, groups. Court Tours Guided tours of the Fulton County Superior Court are available to schools, civic, business, religious and other community groups. The office also works with educators to stage mock trials and other civic education programs. Public Information Policy It is the policy of the Fulton County Superior Court to provide information on a timely basis and to assure adequate and fair access to proceedings which the public has a right to attend. Court documents are not covered by the Georgia Open Records Act (see Official Code of Georgia - OCGA § 50-18-70 et seq.) or the Federal Freedom of Information Act, but the Court's policy is to provide access to all records that are not confidential.
