Jack Goger graduated with honors from Xavier University in 1969.  He received his law degree from Boston College Law School where he served as an editor of the Boston College Law Review.  Following graduation Judge Goger served as law clerk to the Honorable Newell Edenfield, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

As a trial lawyer, Judge Goger handled both civil and criminal matters.  His criminal defense work has included a number of significant and highly publicized cases.  On the civil side, he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in business and commercial matters, personal injury and domestic relations.  He had an extensive bankruptcy practice and regularly served as a trustee in bankruptcy.

Judge Goger was appointed to the State Court of Fulton County on May 31, 1995. On August 5, 1998 the Governor appointed the Judge to the Superior Court of Fulton County where he now presides.  Since 2002, Judge Goger has served as author and editor of:  Daniel’s Georgia Handbook of Criminal Evidence; Daniel’s Georgia Criminal Trial Practice; and Daniel’s Georgia Criminal Trial Practice Forms.
