Public Information Policy

It is the policy of the Fulton County Superior Court to provide information on a timely basis and to assure adequate and fair access to proceedings which the public has a right to attend. Court documents are not covered by the Georgia Open Records Act (see Official Code of Georgia - OCGA § 50-18-70 et seq.) or the Federal Freedom of Information Act, but the Court's policy is to provide access to all records that are not confidential.

Rule 22 (General):

Request to install recording and/or photographing equipment pursuant to rules and guidelines for electronic and photographic news coverage of Judicial proceedings.

• Rule 22s are faxed to the chambers of the judge holding the hearing. Judge fax numbers can be found by clicking on the Judge's name on the Judges webpage.
• For first appearance hearings, fax the Rule 22 to the jail courtroom: 404-602-4741.
• It is always a good idea to request a return fax of the approved Rule 22 for your crew to have when arriving at court or the jail.

• NOTE: If you are filing a Rule 22 request for a civil case white out State of Georgia and enter name of plaintiff.
