Public libraries
are less likely to have primary legal materials such as statutes and opinions
of court cases. However, they are the best place to locate general information
either in the form of periodical articles or books for laypeople. For
example, a high school student writing a paper about gun control might
visit the Law Library to get a copy of the State of Georgia law on concealed
weapons, but would go to the public library to locate newspaper and magazine
articles discussing the pros and cons.
