SUPERIOR COURT JUDGES WELCOME INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
Working in conjunction with the Georgia Council for International Visitors and the International Visitor Leadership Program sponsored by the United States Department of State, the Superior Court welcomed six visitors from Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Chief Judge Gail Tusan, along with Judge T. Jackson Bedford, Judge Todd Markle, Judge Robert McBurney, representatives from Superior Court Administration and the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court, participated in lively discussion with Mr. Abdul Rashid Faizi, a Law and Political Science professor from Herat University, Mr. Abdul Qader Roshangar, a legal advisor, Ministry of Interior, Mr. Dipendra Jha, Chairperson of the Terai Human Rights Defenders (THRD) Alliance, Mr. Azhar Ali, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Ms. Sabira Asad, Advocate High Court, Hanfi Chamber and Mr. Chrishmal Warnasuriya, Counsel, Head of Chambers, Legal Practitioner, Superior Courts. The theme of the trip was Rule of Law and Judicial Reform. The guests were especially interested in the area of case management and the concept of judicial independence. Highlighting their enthusiasm over the visit to Superior Court, the groupís escort made the following comment, "Probably the most appreciated meeting was at the Superior Court of Fulton County. The visitors participated in an in depth discussion with four Superior Court Judges, including the Chief Judge and their case management staff on the Georgia Court system and innovative alternative approaches to handling cases through its Accountability Courts and case management and administration."
