THE ATLANTA JUDICIAL CIRCUIT HOSTS A CHANGE OF GAVEL CEREMONY FEBRUARY 6, 2014
The Superior Court of Fulton County, Atlanta Judicial District, hosted a Change of Gavel Ceremony from Chief Judge Cynthia D. Wright to Chief Judge-elect Gail S. Tusan. The ceremony was held in the Fulton County Assembly Hall, with Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane welcoming the audience and guests after a Presentation of Colors from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department. Master Eric Goosby from Perkinson Elementary School led the Pledge of Allegiance and Superior Court Administrator Yolanda L. Lewis described the occasion. Tributes were provided by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners' Chairman, Johns H. Eaves, Chief Judge John R. Mather, State Court of Fulton County, Ms. Rita Sheffey, Esq. Partner, Hunton and Williams, Reverend Darryl Elligan, True Life Baptist Church and Judge Jane Barwick, Judicial Officer, Fulton County. Presentations were made by Judge Wesley Tailor, State Court of Fulton County, and Judge Shawn Ellen LaGrua, Superior Court of Fulton County. Chief Judge Wright addressed the audience then ceremoniously passed the gavel to Chief Judge-elect Gail S. Tusan. After an introduction by Judge Christopher Brasher, Superior Court of Fulton County, Chief Judge-elect Gail S. Tusan addressed the audience.
